Lumiere - Distant Waters

These paintings move furthest from direct reference. While informed by years of observation and lived experience of landscape and sea, they are not tied to specific locations. Instead, they explore distance — geographical, temporal, and emotional — using water, horizon, and light as organising forces.

In this body of work, landscape becomes a remembered and imagined space. Light is less a description of place than a carrier of mood and presence, allowing the paintings to exist somewhere between observation and invention.
